Dehradun, January 11
The Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) felicitated Dr J P Sharma, senior surgeon of Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical and Health Sciences, Dehradun, with Fellowship of Association of Indian Surgeon (FAIS).
The felicitation to Dr Sharma was announced during the 19th Convocation Ceremony of the ASI at Kochi, Kerela, last month where about 95 other general surgeons from all over India were also honoured. The ASI has felicitated those who have done commendable jobs in the field of medical surgery.
On behalf of the surgery department, Dr Sharma, also presented research papers on “Traumatic Diaphragmatic Hernia in Hilly Region of Uttarakhand” during the felicitation ceremony.
On his return to Dehradun today, Dr Sharma expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the ASI. He said, “The FAIS is just an added qualification to my credentials. It will prove to be beneficial for me in future while will assist me in my research and project works too.”
